Hotel Square - Tomintoul

The breakfast spread was an absolute treat with delicious hot dishes cooked to order, and the local drink selection at the bar was great. Our room was spacious, and the en-suite bathroom had everything we needed. The charming ambiance of the dining area made mornings special.

What a very lovely stay, nothing to complain about. Fairly clean and excellent place with extremely friendly and affable staff. The most important - lovely and wonderful location by mountains. Also - adjacent to the Cairngorms as well as centre of quiet village in whisky country. A great selection of options, outstanding food. Its great service.

Room was super spacious with a comfy bed, and the brekkie was well lekker, freshly made and served hot! The staff were just so friendly, a bonus!

Maybe the decor is a bit dated, but honestly, it just adds to the charm.

Upon entering the room, it was cold, and despite trying to warm it with a plug-in heater, I struggled to get comfortable at night. The bedding felt damp, difficult to sleep well. The decor of the room felt dated and could use some attention to enhance the overall experience.

This place suits me perfectly, offering free parking, a cozy bar/lounge area, a restaurant, and express check-in. On my first stay, the staff guided me with directions, and their friendliness. I recommend trying the local dishes!

Charming stay in beautiful surroundings

Spent a couple of nights here and loved it! The clean, comfy room had everything I needed and the fresh food was a delight. Staff were super friendly. Only thing was the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty. Otherwise, a lovely spot to unwind and explore some fine nature.

The kids enjoyed the clean rooms, and we spent our days hiking the fine trails nearby. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and the staff were pretty good too assist us with our requests.

In my wife's opinion, the restaurant needs better staffing for dining options.

A warm welcome from the staff set a positive tone, and the charming views outside made for a peaceful getaway. The communal areas could use more comfortable seating, and having no air-con made warm nights challenging, but the breakfast spread was enjoyable with quality options.

Make sure to spend evenings at the nearby bird hide for fine wildlife sightings and peacefully enjoy the summer sunsets.

The cleaning service was excellent, keeping everything super clean throughout my stay. The bed in my twin room was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after long days. I enjoyed the mountain view from my room. The ambiance could benefit from more thoughtful decoration to uplift the overall vibe.

The lack of openable windows made the room feel stuffy without air conditioning.

Breakfast service was slow, with only one staff member attending to guests' requests. Despite these issues, the location provides a fine backdrop for exploration.
